This is the second book of a series by a husband and wife writer team that takes place in Atlanta after the merger (fall) of technology and rise of magic. The main character Kate Daniels is called upon to save the city and a young teenager she finds from destruction by a god from the Outer realm who is trying to enter Atlanta (and destroy it and mankind...) It is filled with magic, shifters, witches, vampires and other things that go bump in the night trying to live side by side with the non magic beings. It has more mystery than romance.
I have not read the first one (Magic Bites) yet but I have it on reserve at the library. I enjoyed the story, It was a quick read (260 pages) and I am looking forward to the first one and the third one coming out in Feb, 2009.
